Architectural Concept of the Kronenpark
The design concept is determined by six central parameters: Firstly, the five houses with two apartments each are based on the typology and volumetry of the prevailing cubature of single family houses in Binningen. Secondly, the individual houses are freely grouped around a central yard on the triangular plot; the geometrical layout has been designed in such a way that there is a high variety of vistas between the different buildings and that the five houses are never visible at the same time, whichever perspective from the bordering street spaces and sidewalks might be chosen. Thirdly, it is crucial for the insular position of the premises to realize the idea of a hermetical, park-like area within which the single buildings, in combination with the boundary planting, enjoy a maximum of privacy and autonomy.
